The keywords for the fifth “Cafe in Mito” all start with “R”: revive, recollection, and renewable energy. With these themes in mind, the museum’s curators have selected works by nine artists and groups. The outdoor space presents “Re Mito100 (Limit 100), a project created with Mito residents and directed by Katsuhiko Hibino that lets visitors see and experience 100 programs focusing on aspects of Mito culture known mostly only locals. “Mitoites showing the Mito even locals don’t know to other Mitoites” is the concept behind this project aiming go beyond the narrow definitions of art to uncover Mito cultural assets and the artistry of locals while also recapturing the city’s well-known aspects from a new perspective.
