Contemporary Art Gallery, Art Tower Mito

Art Tower Mito is a cultural complex with a concert hall, theater, and contemporary art gallery, all of which feature a distinctive 100-meter-tall tower commemorating the 100th anniversary of Mito. Since its opening in 1990, the three divisions of music, theater, and fine arts have been conducting a variety of attractive and independently planned programs, as well as various projects in cooperation with citizens as a base for local cultural activities. The Contemporary Art Gallery holds three to four exhibitions a year, including solo exhibitions by world-renowned artists, solo exhibitions by leading Japanese artists, and group exhibitions with themes that respond to the times.
