「TSUKI_HACHI_GALLERY(Art Space Tsuki Daitai Yōka)」opened on October 5, 2025, in the TSUKIMIDAI NARIWAI HOUSING , located on a hilltop in Taura-machi, Yokosuka, Kanagawa. This former municipal housing site, consisting of 65-year-old single-story houses and offering sweeping views of the sea, is sometimes referred to as a “ruin in the sky.” It is currently being revitalized as part of the Former Taura-machi Tsukimidai Housing Regeneration Project. We see this space not merely as a place to view artworks, but as an experimental field where artists, viewers, and artworks resonate with and influence one another. Here, the communication that emerges through encounters between creators and audiences is considered part of the work itself. By embracing not only the experience of viewing art, but also the possibility of carrying these encounters into everyday life, we aim to explore new forms of artistic appreciation beyond conventional boundaries and to foster the creation of meaningful relationships.

ART & CAFE Shonan Kujirakan is a small, hidden gallery and café surrounded by the natural scenery of Katase-Mejiroyama in Fujisawa, Kanagawa. Its concept is to bring art into everyday life, creating a place where visitors can casually enjoy carefully selected works while relaxing with a cup of tea. Inheriting the spirit of the former “Gallery Shonan Kujirakan,” the space focuses on intimate, heart-warming artworks that can be appreciated in a calm, unhurried atmosphere. Exhibitions change with the seasons, and workshops by artists are also held, fostering direct interaction between creators and visitors. By blending art with daily life, local history, and the surrounding nature, the gallery aims to create gentle encounters that quietly enrich the mind.

The Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum is a prefectural facility in Futaba Town, Fukushima Prefecture which opened on September 20, 2020. In addition to the exhibition showing the reality of the unprecedented triple disaster in Fukushima caused by the earthquake, tsunami, and TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident as well as the progress to reconstruction, storytelling lectures are given four times a day by residents who experienced the disaster first hand. Aside from exhibition tours, lessons for disaster prevention and mitigation are disseminated both domestically and internationally for the future through training programs, surveys, and research.

The Hirosaka Annex was originally built in 1922 as a Division Headquarters for the Imperial Japanese Army's Ninth Division. After the war, it was used as an official residence for U.S. Army officers, as the Kanazawa Family Court, as the prefectural children’s centre, as a bird sanctuary, and as a resting area. The entrance area and other parts of the building still retain the appearance of their original construction.
In 2008, the Japanese-style rooms and other parts of the building were renovated, and new exhibition equipment and features were installed, for the building’s reopening as the Hirosaka Annex of the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art. In 2016, it underwent construction work for earthquake-proofing, and a new guidance room was built for the relocated Conservation and Restoration Studio of Cultural Properties, as part of the combined renovation work for the Hirosaka Annex and the adjacent studio.

This gallery is part of “Sotogawa to Nakami,” a complex operated by Iwasaki Shiki, a box and packaging manufacturer. Through exhibitions by Japanese and international artists and designers, it explores packaging as a medium that conveys ideas, stories, and new creative values through dialogue and exchange.

The anime Nintama Rantaro is NHK’s longest-running animated series and is now a beloved national anime enjoyed across generations. The original work for this anime is “Rakudai Ninja Rantaro” by Amako Soubei, who was born in Amagasaki and has continued drawing manga there. The Amako Soubei Manga Gallery, showcasing her works with a focus on the original drawings of Rakudai Ninja Rantaro, has opened inside the Kaimei Government Building in Amagasaki. This is the first permanent space in Japan dedicated to exhibiting Amako’s original drawings. Making use of a former elementary school building, the gallery features a display space inspired by the “Ninjutsu Academy,” as well as a shop corner and an area where fans can gather and interact. Though small in scale, it is a unique and charming gallery.
