Quau in photo is a collaborative project between sculptor Hiroshi Mikami and photographer Kiyoshi Tatsukawa, which was carried out between 1987 to 1992. In this collaboration Mikami hits stone with a hammer in the dark, Tatsukawa captures the sparks from the stone, on one single film through the technique bulb shooting. The project was introduced to public at the exhibition “Beyond the Photographic Frame | 11 Recent Works” which took place at ATM contemporary art gallery in 1990 and is here revisited in a reworked selection of prints.
