Tama Art University Museum lifts the curtain on a carefully selected collection of 80 works from the Tanzania based African pop movement Tinga Tinga which came to emerge between 1970-1990. With all works taken from the collection of Kenji Shiraishi(1946-2005) the show includes the creations of Tinga Tinga founder Edward Saidi Tingatinga, and the early artists of Simon George Mpata and Kaspar Henrick Tedo, as well as later proponents of the movement, including Jaffary Aussi,each combining images of plants, people’s everyday lives, myths and folktales.
