The Idemitsu Museum of Arts celebrates its 50th anniversary with “Celebrating the Beauty of Japanese Arts,” a three-part series spotlighting National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties from its collection. The second show presents Suiboku-ga ink paintings, which were influenced by Chinese paintings while adding a flavor original to the Japanese. Displays include Noami’s “Birds and Flowers of the Four Seasons,” Tohaku Hasegawa’s “Bamboo and Cranes,” and the second volume of the “Illustrated Scrolls on the Courtier Ban Dainagon,” a National Treasure exhibited for the first time in a decade.
