Moyoco Anno
Moyoco Anno’s manga have resonated with many for their portrayals of women’s real feelings and struggles, as well as fashions, eras, and artistic styles. For its first exhibition at its new space in Ikebukuro, Parco Museum presents the first major show of Anno’s work with a selection of original illustrations from her more than 20-year career. It surveys her work from her debut in 1995 with Happy Mania through the currently ongoing series Ochibi-san (The Diary of Ochibi-san) and Bikachō Shinshi Kaikoroku (Memoirs of Amorous Gentleman). The draft of Part 2 of Sakuran, known by fans as Maboroshino before it was released as a book, is also featured.
