Atsuko Tanaka
This exhibition features 22 works on paper and 2 types of silkscreen print work. Just as the universe expanded from an extremely dense and hot state and continues to expand, Tanaka’s drawings embody the root of her creation. Over the past decades, Tanaka has featured in various international exhibitions as an individual artist, beyond the context of the Gutai movement or that of art in postwar Japan. Her work is included in a number of internationally important public collections, including that of New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). In the ‘Documenta 12′ exhibition in 2007 her ‘Electric Dress’ attracted great attention, followed by a number of large-scale works.
