Born in Yamanashi prefecture in 1981 Yosuke Yajima taught himself photography since his student days and since being selected for the “1_Wall” program in 2009 he has enjoyed a steady stream of solo and groups exhibitions as well as participating in various international photography festivals. The photo book collection “Ourselves/1981” presented here features works produced between 2010 to 2015 and distills the perspective of contemporary life from that of a particular generation. Here his photographs capture a certain sense of disquiet and lack of warmth shared by many of those born at a similar time in the Kanto region.
