Shinobu Tsuda
Born in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, Shinobu Tsuda (1875-1946), is recognized as a master of metal sculpture due to his achievements as a craftsman and teacher. This exhibit at the Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art features his casting works from his early through late years, including documentation of his methods. There is a special corner dedicated to the commission Tsuda received to create a door for the Capitol Building. In total 84 pieces, including pottery and metal works from throughout Tsuda’s life, will be on display as a means of detailing the life of this metal art giant.
