Salvador Dali
Spanish born Salvador Dali(1904-89) may be claimed to be one of the most famous artists of the 20th century. In 1929 he hurtled onto the Parisian art scene and became a leading figure of Surrealism before going to America and gaining even further popularity. At the same time he worked across film, theater, fashion and many other creative genres, collaborating with the likes of Walt Disney and Elsa Schiaparelli. Transforming the public imagination of art and the artist we may also cite Dali as a pioneer of contemporary art. This exhibition brings together 250 works from major collections around the world in the first retrospective of Dali’s work in Japan in 10 years.
