Misa Otera graduated from Musashino Art University this March and her graduation work won the Award of Excellence. Otera is studying Japanese Painting in the graduate school of Musashino Art University now. Eighteen of her works, including Japanese Paintings, drawings by pen, and of course her large graduation work are on display.
“I try to express in my images the transformations of melancholy and pleasure for having been born a woman. The women in my works depict myself, so they can be said to be ‘self-portraits.’”
