Drawing Manga! — Lines, Panels, Kyara

Kawasaki City Museum
Finished

Artists

Fujio Akatsuka, Shotaro Ishinomori, Osamu Tezuka, Kiyohiko Azuma, Takawo Saito, Ako Mutsu, Daijiro Moroboshi et al.
Manga fans often have the urge to try drawing scenes from their favorite books themselves, and by doing so help support today’s manga scene. This exhibition explores how several hit manga came to be through the perspectives of “drawing,” “showing,” and “enjoying.” Explore the processes through which masters such as Osamu Tezuka, Fujio Akatsuka, and others established their own unique styles and admire original illustrations and giant panel displays by eight contemporary manga artists including Kiyohiko Azuma, plus explanations, character drawings, and compositions by the parody mangaist Keiichi Tanaka.
