Masaaki Yamada
Attracting attention from a young age for his post-minimalist expressions, Masaaki Yamada (b. 1929) has produced nearly 5,000 paintings over more than half a century and established himself as one of Japan’s most important contemporary artists. The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo will hold a retrospective of his work in December, 2016. Four works from various points in his career are on display.
