Inoue Koji
The documentary “Inoue Koji, Hyozo wo Koeta Shashinka” (Koji Inoue: Photographer Beyond Representation) will be screened as part of the Tokyo Deaf Festival running April 7 through April 9. In conjunction with this, Atsukobarouh Arts Drinks Talk presents a two-part exhibition of work by Inoue, a trailblazing photographer who spent his own life documenting the lives of others during the Showa period (1926–1989). In 1993 he was awarded Arles Civic Award at the Arles International Photography Festival, and the ensuing international acclaim led to director Brigitte Lemaine creating a short film about his life.
