Masaaki Hiroi
Masaaki Hiroi is a fourth-generation maker of spinning tops, which he creates with traditional Edo and wind-up techniques. Admired not just in Japan but around the world, his creations have been exhibited and acquired for the permanent collection of the Louvre. Hiroi has also been named an honorary citizen of Seattle, Washington. See Hiroi’s tops, watch him give a demonstration of his creative process, and try out some top spinning yourself!
