The Japan Foundation Asia Center introduces some of Southeast Asia’s most beloved films with the “Fun! Fun! Asian Cinema” program screening multi-genre features geared toward a young Japanese audience. This session presents a special lineup starring fresh, enchanting Southeast Asian heroines. “881” (screened from 9/27) is a musical by the talented Singaporean director Royston Tan. “Sweet 20” (screened from 11/29) is the Vietnamese version of the Korean smash-hit “Sing My Life” remade in China, Japan, and other countries.
