With his refreshing smile and likable charisma, Yujiro Ishihara was a superstar. From his debut in 1956 in “Season of the Sun”, Ishihara would go on to make his mark as an actor, voice actor, singer, and producer and define the Showa era. 2017 marked 30 years since his passing and that August sadly saw the closing of the Ishihara Yujiro Kinenkan Museum in Otaru, Hokkaido. This touring exhibition will showcase items from the museum’s collection. Exhibited items will include props from his films, outfits from his TV shows, and more than 100 of his favorite suits and shoes. Ishihara’s treasured Mercedes Benz 300SL gullwing will also be shown.
