Classical Western Woodblock Print - Duplicates and Originals

Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts
Finished
The woodblock prints of masters Albrecht Durer and Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn were original works from concept to finished product. Meanwhile, the 16th and 17th century works on display for this exhibit are mostly the result of collaboration between painters, engravers, and publishers. This exhibition showcases the contrast between the original works and the interpreted works created by the engravers.
