Yukari Ichijo
Since her debut in 1968, manga artist Yukari Ichijo has been telling popularly acclaimed dramatic stories with fantastic settings and wild-hearted, bad-girl protagonists who break the molds of shojo (girls’) manga. In addition to love stories like “Suna no Shiro” (Sandcastle), Ichijo’s multiple award-winning works include action comedies such as “Yukan Club.” This exhibition survey’s Ichijo’s 50-year career with original illustrations from early and major works, including “Designer,” “Sandcastle,” “Yukan Club,” “Tadashii Renai no Susume” (Recommendations for a Proper Love Affair).
