Eiki Mori
“Letter to My Son” comprises video work that Eiki Mori has created from his shoots and recently edited, plus seven sets of photographs and letters in Mori’s handwriting. The artworks are based on his memories with a friend in NYC. In the essay with the same title, serialized in the weekly magazine Shukan-Dokushojin, Mori depicts his thoughts about three people from different generations: a grandfather, a father, and a son, taking place in New York before 9/11 and in current day Tokyo. The timeline overlaps yet the stories are solidly connected and move effortlessly between–and beyond–their times and cities.
