Chie Hitotsuyama
Chie Hitotsuyama creates life-sized animals from layers of string made of twisted paper. The artist’s hometown of Fuji, Shizuoka is known for paper production and as a child, she often played in mountains of paper scrap. The theme of this exhibition is one large scene of animals on the banks of water and will include a large three-dimensional hippopotamus. Hitotsuyama’s work captures animals both in states of relaxation and motion.
