Artists

Koji Nakazono
Koji Nakazono (1989–2015) is known for his imaginative free-form paintings featured in important exhibitions such as Japanorama at Centre Pompidou-Metz in 2017 and the 7th Moscow Biennale in 2017. His canvases burst with color and diverse materials, depicting forms of life on the fringes of his imagination with humor and a sense of the uncanny. The first exhibition of Nakazono’s work at Yokosuka Museum of Art presents around 50 of his paintings, providing an opportunity to encounter his rich painterly world in its vibrant variations.
