Takahiko Hayashi
Takahiko Hayashi (b. 1961) is an award-winning artist with a strong social media following and exhibitions across Japan and also in Portland planned for this year. His practice focuses on copperplate prints but also includes works on parchment paper, thread collages, ink drawings, glass art, and woodblocks. This exhibition, “The Lines,” presents works featuring intricate line drawings on Japanese washi paper, prints with lines created by carving directly on copperplates, glass art made with reverse-side scratchings, and other pieces spotlighting Hayashi’s talent for rendering lines in colorful, dense, and dynamic forms.
