Artists

Richard Gorman
Richard Gorman, an artist based in Dublin, Milan, and Japan, has a long history with the Iwanoheizaburo washi paper of Fukui Prefecture. Gorman first encountered it in the 1990s and it has been an important material in his work ever since. He uses it to give his intricate oil paintings on canvas definite form and contrast. These works are known for their geometric compositions shaped by refined balances of color. Organic and playful, they have been dubbed “Emotional Geometric” by the Irish film director Neil Jordan. Twenty of Gorman’s works are on display.
