Nihombashi Takashimaya 6F / Art Gallery
Finished

Artists

Naoto Yokoyama
Naoto Yokoyama, a 1962 graduate of the Tokyo University of the Arts sculpture department, worked as a designer for a glass company before going independent as a glass artist in 1975. “Glass décor” takes its name from its highly decorative element, he explains. Yokoyama’s one-of-a-kind works show a gentle eye for the animals, flowers, and insects of the world. Combinations of warm colors and humorous shapes call out to the viewer, evoking pleasant dreams. Recent pieces reflect a tendency to treasure encounters of all kinds as he grows older. These new objects d’art display an ever-growing depth and creativity.
