This exhibition marks the 50th anniversary of the publishing debut by Keiko Takemiya, a pioneering artist of both shojo and shonen manga artist whose books such as “Kaze to Ki no Uta” have tackled taboo subjects such as homosexuality, racism, and assault. Takemiya’s work to date spans some 180 titles and 260,000 pages. Kawasaki City Museum offers a look back on her many accomplishments with around 150 displays, including color illustrations and rare hand-drawn manuscripts.
