*Print Gallery Tokyo is temporarily closed from Mar. 27.
Takahiro Kurashima (1970 –) studied graphics design at Musashino Art University, thereafter becoming an art director at an advertising agency in Tokyo. In the meantime, he has worked on various independent projects and productions, including the book “Poemotion” issued by Swiss publisher Lars Müller, now in its third volume.
When the reader overlays a film enclosed in a book on printed patterns, a virtual moiré emerges, vibrating and coming to life. It is called “Poemotion” because the titles accompanying each work define the significances in motion as a piece of visual poetry. Kurashima has recently provided works for installations and booklets by the fashion brand Hermès and publications by the Exploratorium museum in San Francisco. In addition to Poemotion-themed printmaking works he has created thus far, this exhibition will feature three-dimensional art works, posters, and new works printed with luminescent ink.
Depends on each event. Closed in between exhibitions.
