Artists

Tal-su Kim
*Kanagawa Museum of Modern Literature is temporarily closed from Jan. 12 to Mar. 8.

Through his work Tal-su Kim (1920-1997) explored what it means to be human from the perspective of a person of Korean descent living in Japan.

Born in Japan controlled Korea Kim and his family moved to Japan when he was 10 years old. While helping his impoverished family Kim studied literature and made it his lifework to write about “Korean culture in Japan”. In celebration of 100 years since his birth, this exhibition introduces documents highlighting the life and work of a man who worked to deepen the understanding between Japanese and Koreans.
