“Art in the Time of Corona”, is a brand new collection of 26 paintings all created in Tokyo in 2020 by British artist, Iain Lonsdale. This collection expresses the inner tensions brought on by the unprecedented confinement this year and the will of the spirit to break free from physical restrictions.
The artist explores form, color, and space on canvas in a spontaneous way, without a preconceived destination. He uses acrylic paint and adhesives, his tools are brush, palette knife and chopstick. “In 2020, I continue to explore ways to visually articulate my journey and continue to create spaces within boundaries. These images represent flights of the mind exploring new places.”
