The Elegance of Noh World—Noh Mask Collection of the Mizoguchi Family

This show exhibits for the first time Noh masks from the collection of the feudal lord of Echigo Prefecture’s Shibata Domain, the Mizoguchi family. This miraculous collection includes the bags and chests for a wide variety of 67 different Noh masks from the latter half of the 18th century. Take a moment this autumn to gaze at these Noh masks, treasures of a Daimyo family. Art and publications related to Noh will also be exhibited.
