The title of this exhibition references a 1978 show curated by the MoMA photography department director John Szarkowski called “Mirrors And Windows: American Photography Since 1960.” Rather than looking back, this show aims to present images of the coming future, offering discoveries as mirrors of the self and windows onto the outside world. The subtitle comes from the famous jazz record “The Shape Of Jazz To Come.”
