Namonaki Sanemasa
In this exhibition, the Namonaki Sanemasa will present new work based on the history and art trends of his hometown Fukuoka and his own life experiences.

This work, which is a further development of the video work presented in the 2020 exhibition (Rintaro Fuse, Nameless Jisho “Pandora Battery”, IAF Shop*, Fukuoka), takes as its starting point the large lantern with warrior motifs used in a festival called “Ohama-ryu Kancho” in Fukuoka. The work also uses characters and Internet images as motifs, along with paintings by Hakata painter Ebizaki Yukikei. These drawings are swallowed up by the noise and are described as the artist’s personal notes and thoughts on their similarity and loss. In this exhibition, Namonaki will present a large work the artist describes as an introspect work reflecting on the COVID-19 pandemic.
