Tatsumi Orimoto
Presenting new films and posters by Tatsumi Orimoto shown in Tokyo for the first time. From the 1990s through 2017, Orimoto made works about caring for his mother Odai, an Alzheimer’s patient. His film “Beethoven Mama” (2012) was screened at the 2019 London East Asia Film Festival at Tate Modern. Orimoto’s work has also included street actions, such as when he made a mask from a portrait of his late mother and walked through the streets of London, a project documented on film as “Ghost of Art-Mama.” Around 60 postcards Orimoto sent to his mother are also on display.
