Haruka Yamada “Nocturne”

Soco1010
Finished

Artists

Haruka Yamada
During a residency in Estonia in 2019, Haruka Yamada has been following the trails of shadows created by the sun during the daytime and the light of the moon at night, creating works that document a lyrical life. This exhibition will focus on Yamada’s new video “Nocturne,” which is based on the records of walks on cloudless nights following the full moon.

Produced in Dijon, France in 2014 and Yokohama, Japan in 2020, “Nocturne” is the third work in the series, and has been carried out in various cities as an ongoing project. Named after the intention to capture the walking lines and rhythms of the moon as a musical object, “Nocturne” has been a video work without sound until now, but this time is an attempt at a new collaboration with a musician.
