Kyotaro Hakamata + Tomotaka Yasui “Window Gallery Project Vol.2”

MA2 Gallery
Finished

Artists

Kyotaro Hakamata, Tomotaka Yasui
In April of last year, the gallery was closed due to COVID-19, and the experimental exhibition “Window Gallery Project: Kyotaro Hakamata” was held in the gallery without letting viewers in, but only from outside the window. This time, as the second part of the project, “Window Gallery Project Vol.2: Kyotaro Hakamata and Tomotaka Yasui” will show the process of passing the baton from Kyotaro Hakamata to Tomotaka Yasui, another MA2 artist. The two artists, Kyotaro Hakamata and Tomotaka Yasui have been working in completely different ways, maintaining a unique distance from “sculpture”. In the course of discussions for this project, they discovered an unexpected point of contact with each other and selected works that were once shown elsewhere and re-selected from a new perspective to be presented as a space for collaboration between the two sculptors. While the exhibition is based on a special form of viewing only from outside the window, the gallery will be open on certain Saturdays.
