Artists

Koji Yamaguchi
Currently based in Tokyo, Koji Yamaguchi moved to New York in 2015 and worked there for three years. While working as an artist’s assistant in New York, Yamaguchi also worked as an artist, creating collages, drawings, and deciphering landscapes.

All of Yamaguchi’s works are based on skateboarding, which he has been doing for a long time. In his early works, he depicted famous skate spots among skaters, such as parks, waterfalls, and under bridges, and used watercolor paper and pieces of paper scraps from those locations.

In 2017, Yamaguchi got injured and took a break from skateboarding. After that, his perspective changed to outdoor walls, vases in rooms, and houses in the residential area. At present, he takes pictures of the surrounding scenery while cycling and creates the picture on the canvas.

This exhibition will present a number of Yamaguchi’s latest work that depicts the everyday scene from his unique perspective.
