Artists

Hisashi Eguchi
Hisashi Eguchi started his career as a popular comedy manga artist with his Susume!! Pirates (1977) and Stop!! Hibari-kun! (1981) in Weekly Shōnen Jump. His cool and fashionable girl characters grabbed the heart of his fans and Eguchi continues to be the leading artist in today’s “bijinga” (portrayal of beautiful women) genre. With his 400 illustrations, this exhibition looks at his forty years of artful story-telling about youth culture and the beauty of women.
