Egypt, Land of Discoveries: From The National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, The Netherlands

Bunkamura Museum of Art
Finished
*Bunkamura Museum of Art will reopen from June 1 (Tue.).

Over 200 objects including human and animal mummies, mummy cases, stelae, and papyri travels from the Netherlands’ National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, known as one of Europe’s five largest ancient Egyptian collections. The exhibition unveils the lifestyles of the ancient Egyptians, their society, their views on life and death, their aesthetic sense of color and shape, as well as their medical knowledge and the process of mummification.

In particular, a dozen of the priceless mummy cases has been displayed together, standing on their own feet, which is a very rare view to be showcased and made it a must-see exhibit.

This will also be the world’s first occasion to present the research results of the CT scans of mummified bodies from the collection, which will also on view in the exhibition.
Come and discover this amazing exhibit, which showcases ancient Egypt from a new perspective never before.
