Kazuyuki Takeshita
Kazuyuki Takishita is an up-and-coming artist who has been working on a series of works based on the motif of “Momotaro,” which has been handed down from ancient times in Japan, using his unique creativity and drawing ability.
When he was thinking about his graduation project for graduate school, he happened to see a demon scribbling on the wall, and his own image swelled up and the “Momotaro” series was born. Instead, he depicts demons and animals rhythmically and humorously from the demon’s perspective. His fun style of painting has won him many fans, and he continues his creative activities energetically, presenting his works all over the country. His work is unique in that he draws a rough sketch on a panel (woodblock) with his left non-dominant hand, then carves the outline and paints it with acrylic paint. He draws the outline with his left hand and paints it with acrylic paint. Takeshita says that if he draws with his dominant hand, it is too good to be interesting, so he draws with his left hand to create a playful line with a sense of discomfort, and expresses the cuteness of the demon. In addition to paintings, he also produces figures and goods and has developed a wide range of demon characters. He is a fan of professional wrestling and martial arts, which he utilizes in the movements and poses of the demons in his works.

This exhibition will be held in commemoration of the publication of the artist’s fifth art book, which will also be on sale. In addition, the second Demon Figure DX (available in three colors) will be exhibited.
