The exhibition “Discovery” was organized by “Fuwari no Mori”, the first contemporary art project in the Narita International Airport area. With the concept of “Discovering Art in Narita”, this project aims to create a new journey for many people who used to visit Narita Airport for the purpose of art, and to create an environment in which contemporary art can be found in Narita (art tourism, regional revitalization, and collaboration between the airport and the region).
This time, in the fall of 2021, the contemporary artist Takanori Ishizuka will be invited to present a large-scale solo exhibition entitled “Hide And Seek (Hide and Seek). This solo exhibition will feature nearly 100 works at once, including giant sculptures, fabrics, and two-dimensional works, which have attracted attention for the collection of his work at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo and the exhibition of his work at art festivals. With his diverse expressions, Ishizuka creates “things” that are real but invisible in the world of animals.
In this large-scale exhibition, nearly 100 works from Takanori Ishizuka’s atelier will be gathered in Narita, and the venue, an entire Japanese-style house, garage, and storehouse will be occupied by art.
This is an unprecedented project that connects contemporary art and Narita, allowing visitors to visit Narita for Art and discover a new Narita.
