35th Anniversary Exhibition: 200 Years of Nabeshima Ware

Toguri Museum of Art
Finished
In 2022, the Toguri Art Museum celebrates its 35th anniversary. Since its opening, it has organized exhibitions based on its collection as a museum specializing in ceramics. A large part of the museum's collection is Nabeshima ware, an exquisite porcelain and one of the favorites of the museum's founder, Toru Toguri.

This exhibition focuses on the history of Nabeshima ware during the 200 years of the Edo period (1603–1867). It spotlights the techniques and technologies of molding and decoration, with a particular focus on Nabeshima ware’s golden era. Around 80 examples produced by the Saga Nabeshima domain are exhibited.
