Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts opened on November 3rd, 1972, and celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. With around 9000 works in our collection, we have created more than 240 exhibitions until now and since 2000 we have been putting effort into educational programs as well. By joining forces with the local residents and educational institutions, we have been creating various encounters with art.
This exhibition does not have a particular target period or genre but is an "Exhibition Without a Title", in which we will display carefully selected works from out collection and will trace the history of the museum. In order to express our gratitude towards out visitors, we will use all the gallery rooms for this exhibition. Posters from previous exhibition will also be displayed along with inside stories, known only to the museum's curators.

*Admission will be free on June 11th (Sat), June 12th (Sun) and June 15th (Wed).
*There will be a changeover in displays during the exhibition period.
