Artists

Aki Yamamoto
The title "Invisible feet, curved you" is a reference to trees. The street trees that grow in cities have branches pruned to a height that people can reach, and are fitted with corrective devices to make them grow straight. The artist says that there are moments when looking at them, one sees a person who is oppressed and unable to move freely. However, the roots of the trees, which no one can see, are transformed into various shapes. The exhibition will focus on new work depicting the free-standing of roots in the soil, painted like freely transformed graffiti characters. To commemorate the exhibition, T-shirts printed with the artist's drawings will also be available for purchase.
