Alteronce Gumby
This exhibition, showcasing five new paintings, will be Alteronce Gumby's first exhibition in Asia. The exhibition title "It Was All A Dream" is inspired by the opening line of the iconic hip-hop song, "Juicy" – the first single released from American rapper The Notorious B.I.G.’s 1994 debut album "Ready to Die." Gumby’s vibrant abstract paintings also emerge from his dreams and manifestations.

Through a process that involves both planning and improvisation, Gumby works with thousands of fractured glass shards as well as gemstones, pigments, and acrylic medium. His meticulously composed paintings radiate hyper-chromatic activity. As the lighting conditions change, the paintings also change. Reflections and refractions of glass and gemstones are activated upon interaction with light and motion, giving the works an intensity and unexpected vitality.
