William Morris
William Morris (1834-96) idealized a medieval society in which craftsmanship, which had declined with the Industrial Revolution, and manufacturing were richly connected to daily life, and engaged in a wide variety of activities, from design and poetry based on motifs of natural plants and trees to the preservation of the environment and ancient architecture. The Arts and Crafts Movement, led by Morris, was a movement of designers, painters, architects, potters, and craftsmen in late 19th century England that resonated with his ideas. Their efforts to revive handicrafts and bring art to people's lives with high-quality arts and crafts that combine function and beauty spread to countries around the world and continue to have a significant impact even today.

This exhibition will display the works of William Morris and other British artists, as well as those of Frank Lloyd Wright, who symbolized the Arts and Crafts Movement, a unique derivative of the movement that moved from England to the United States, and showcases the diversity of the movement. Visitors are invited to view a wide variety of works that add color to daily life, including wallpaper, textiles, furniture, metalwork, jewelry, and stained glass.
