The 20th century was the age of images. Inventions such as photography, film, and television expanded people's worlds and made information more visible. In terms of photography, it was the era of gelatin silver prints (silver halide photography). Photographers used the most advanced gelatin silver prints of the time to produce their works. However, it is no exaggeration to say that analog photography, especially silver halide photography, is destined to disappear in this century due to the evolution of digital cameras.

In 2009, Toki-no-Wasuremono gallery began holding the " Gelatin Silver Prints" exhibition series in an effort to broaden the appeal of works created with analog technology. The 8th exhibition will feature silver halide photographs by Jean-Eugène Atget (1857-1927), Imogen Cunningham (1883-1976), Man Ray (1890-1976), Robert Doisneau (1912-1994), Ikko Narahara (1931-2020), and Kensuke Kazama (1960-2017).
