The Hiroshima Museum of Art is highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad for its collection of modern French art, particularly Impressionist art. This exhibition features 69 selected French and Japanese paintings and sculptures from the museum's collection, providing an overview of the development of art from the 19th to the first half of the 20th century. It features Impressionist paintings by Monet and Renoir, Post-Impressionist paintings by Cézanne, Modern Art from the 20th century onward by Picasso, as well as Japanese Western-style paintings by Seiki Kuroda and others who contributed to the spread of the Western painting.
