Chiba City Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Hiroaki Kiyomizu, Kyubei Kiyomizu
Hiroaki Kiyomizu is a ceramic artist based in Kyoto. This exhibition is Kiyomizu's first solo exhibition in the Kanto region and it features his latest ceramic works, which explore the theme of "red".

For Kiyomizu, red is a familiar color with the mysterious power to invite us into a world of danger, frenzy, passion, and happiness. Shimizu uses cinnabar glaze, which is considered one of the most difficult glazes to handle, to expand his expression. His works resonate with the sculptures of his grandfather, Kyubei Kiyomizu (1922-2006), which also will be exhibited at the exhibition.
