Artists

Shiori Horie
Shiori Horie began working on portraits at the age of 24, after living in France. The title of the exhibition reflects the artist's contemplation of the inner workings of these beings. Other beings beside oneself. This attitude of listening carefully to the voices of individual beings that cannot be seen by the eye may be connected to her dialogue with Shunsuke Matsumoto, whom she has admired since she was a child. This exhibition features approximately 30 works from her early years, including her recent work "Future Behind You" (2019-2021), and explores the appeal of Horie's creative process as a painter who will lead the next generation.
